You can easily get to Atlante by car, taxi or bus. Having a car offers the comfort and flexibility needed to explore the island to its full potential. Some of the most authentic places of Madeira are only accessible by car or private tours.

The route from the Airport to Atlante takes about 50min via the tunnels/highway. While beautifully remote, Funchal is 40min away. The furthest points of the island are reachable within approximately 1-hour driving.

Just a 30-minutes drive from the top of the Calheta mountains (Paúl da Serra) with its breathtaking natural landscapes and famous Levada walks. You can reach the ocean and the beach within 10min driving.

Nestled in quiet eucalyptus forests and traditional agriculture, away from busy Funchal, this place is perfectly positioned for nature lovers, and sits right at the start of the PR19 hike with its scenic descent to Paul do Mar.

Close by, you will find the historic Caminho Real path that offer hidden views over the coastline and a sensory barefoot path, offering a unique way to be connected with nature. Other special and known top sights at a short drive away.

In Prazeres, you can enjoy the Sunday Farmers' Market, to buy fresh products directly from the producers. The village is also renowned for its traditional cider production: a visit to a local cider house is a must to taste this Madeiran specialty.

Calheta is known as Madeira’s sunniest spot. It feels like eternal spring all year round. Still, Atlante is located 500m above ocean level, so it can get cooler and misty especially during winter, sunrise and sunset.

You will also find some restaurants, local mini-markets, supermarkets and snack-bars nearby. Closest supermarket at 2min driving and 15min walking.

While the bungalow participates in the overall architecture of the neighbouring hotel, it is privately owned. To use hotel facilities, like restaurant, pool or spa, you should reserve it directly with the hotel reception (fees apply).
